Listen to your body
Most healthy adults can simply drink to thirst and check that their urine is pale yellow most of the day.
When you need more
- Hot or humid weather.
- Exercise lasting over an hour.
- Higher protein or higher fiber intake.
- Illness with fever, vomiting or diarrhea.
Electrolytes matter too
Water without sodium, potassium and magnesium can leave you feeling worse, especially after sweat-heavy workouts.
